The first international symposium of the pomegranate sector, within the framework of the Fresh AgroMashov Exhibition and in cooperation with "Pomeg-Tech Ltd.", will address the most important issues for farmers, marketing personnel, manufacturers of juices and buyers in the industry, the country and around the world.

The pomegranate industry is unique, characterized by incredible growth of the sector over the last decade, despite the global economic and financial crisis that we have witnessed in recent years.
The pomegranate industry in Israel is the most profitable of all the activities of the various fruit sectors in the country.
Among the achievements of the Israeli pomegranate industry, it is important to note the high yield, which stands at more than 40 tons per hectare (10 acres = 1 hectare), the high fruit quality (up to 70% of export quality), the large size (average of above 500 grams per fruit) and a wide range of more profitable species.

The symposium will address, among other issues, the growth of new varieties of pomegranate in Israel, UPOV - the new protocol of pomegranate varieties, innovative agronomic techniques for pomegranate growth, the characteristics of the European pomegranate market, innovations in post-harvest activities and the main features of the processing and marketing of pomegranates in the global juice industry.

Among the participants at the symposium: Adam Prichard, CEO of PomeGreat, Europe's largest pomegranate juice company; Prof. Adel Kader, a pomegranate researcher on the Davis campus, University of California; Dan Rimon, CEO of Pomeg-Tech, Dr. Doron Holland, the leading researcher in the field in Israel and others.

Dr. Dan Rimon, CEO of "Pomeg-Tech", one of the organizers of the symposium, said to "Mashov Agriculture" that "we are making great efforts to bring to the symposium the top professionals in the sector, in research, in growing and in marketing to the juice industry. We are currently in contact with other top professionals, to obtain their participation in the symposium ".
