29.06.2014

As part of the the 24th Fresh Agro-Mashov International Agricultural Exhibition, held last week in Tel Aviv, the international Chinese organization IGEA, which includes more than 700 Chinese companies in the agricultural, water and green energy sectors, signed a cooperation agreement with the Mashov Group.

As part of the 24th Fresh Agro-Mashov International Agricultural Exhibition, the only exhibition in the Middle East for fresh agricultural produce, which took place last week in Tel-Aviv at the meeting place of three continents (Europe, Asia and Africa), a cooperation agreement was signed with the Chinese organization IGEA (INTERNATIONAL GREEN ECONOMY ASSOCIATION). The Chinese delegation came to Israel under the leadership of Mr. JOSEPH ZHN – the vice secretary general and took part in meetings attended by CEOs and presidents of companies that are looking for investments and advanced technology in Israel. The delegation included representatives from 17 Chinese companies who came to Israel for a week during which time they met with the Minister of Agriculture, Yair Shamir and with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Environmental Protection. The visit of the Chinese group and the signing the cooperation agreement generated a lot of interest in the local Israeli media just a few weeks after the country's largest food corporation "Tnuva" had been purchased by the Chinese company Bright Food.

As part of the cooperation agreement signed between the Chinese organization and the Mashov Group, reciprocal visits to Israel and China will be arranged as well as the sharing of information, tours for delegations etc. The deal was brokered by the Israeli Sinnovation company which has been involved in economic development between Israel and China for 12 years.

Mr. JOSEPH ZHN, the vice secretary general of the IGEA Organization, stressed in his welcoming address at the signing ceremony the importance to the Chinese of agricultural progress and the importance to them of their cooperation with Israelis as leaders in the field.

Mr. Haim Allouche, CEO of Mashov: "The agreement is a breakthrough agreement for us and for the Israeli agriculture and clean-tech sectors. The Israeli Mashov Group will promote the interests of Chinese companies while similarly enhancing the possibilities of many Israeli companies to introduce and establish relationships with Chinese companies that are seeking advanced technology. We believe that in the coming Clean-Tech and Fresh Agro-Mashov exhibitions we will see an increase in the numbers of exhibitors and visitors from China”.

"The Chinese are looking for Israeli technology, and the way to apply it in practice, including the implementation of new systems" said Itay Friedjung, CEO of SINNOVATION. "Israel has a strong image in China as a technological superpower in the agriculture, water and environmental sectors. The agreement with the Mashov Group will expand cooperation on food security, the environment, urbanization processes etc."

The half-jubilee Fresh Agro-Mashov Exhibition will be held a year from now at the Conventions Center in Tel Aviv on 23rd 24th June and will mark 25 years of success: the personal success of the organizers, led by Mr. Haim Allouche, the  founder of Mashov and the resounding success of Israeli agriculture which understood the need to change its ingredients and has become central to the global fresh produce sector.
